Explore Edmonton is currently recruiting a practi cumplacement role for a Marketing Intern, Venues for Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre. Working as a member of the Global Marketing Team, the Marketing Intern, Venues will support the implementation and execution of the marketing strategy for the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre.

The Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre uphold a strong culture of sustainability that supports the City of Edmonton’s greenhouse gas reductions goals and creates a healthier venue for its staff, guests, clients and environment. Both venues have released Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plans that commit to emissions reductions goals of 15% by 2025 and 30% by 2035. The centers are Green Key Certified and have achieved Climate Smart Certification. Not to mention, the Edmonton Convention Centre is one of only five Canadian venues to be certified to ASTM standards.
The Marketing Intern supports the execution of venue related projects for the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre, and monitors the B2B marketing, event campaign, content marketing and digital marketing strategies of these two portfolios. Working in close collaboration with the Marketing Accounts Manager, Venues and the entire Explore Edmonton Global Marketing team, the Marketing Intern supports the marketing activities undertaken at Explore Edmonton’s venues with the goals of supporting revenue and sales conversions, driving value for shareholders, increasing positive brand recognition, and engagement with the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre brand platforms.

Key Accountabilities
• Assists in fielding marketing requests from the venues teams and assigning to contractors/Global Marketing team members through Asana.
• Supports ongoing marketing activities for clients, tenants and event producers and promoters with the goal of adding value.
• Supports brand development and compliance for the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre.
• Supports the maintenance of venue digital marketing properties which may include website, e-mail marketing and social media.
• Collaborates with Global Marketing brand team to produce branded collateral including sales collateral, menus, signage, advertising etc.
• Supports the execution of digital B2B sales campaigns and B2C event promotion campaigns with the goals of increasing event booking conversions, ticket sales and in-venue spending.
• Supports the development of quality content and story-telling collateral wit the goal of increasing positive brand recognition of the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre.
• Collaborates with clients, tenants and event producers to develop marketing campaigns that increase ticket sales and in-venue spending.
Location: Edmonton EXPO Centre, Edmonton Convention Centre & World Trade Centre
Hybrid remote/in-person

Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
